• Key Indicators Dashboard Updated with New IPEDS Data

    February 27, 2025 - WSCUC

WSCUC has updated its Key Indicators Dashboard (KID) with the latest Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) data, providing institutions, peer viewers, and the public the most up-to-date publicly available institutional metrics.

The dashboard draws from multiple federal sources, enabling multi-year comparisons for WSCUC member institutions against national and peer benchmarks. Updated as new data becomes available, the latest KID refresh includes most of the data gathered from the IPEDs 2023-2024 collection year. Additionally, KID now features the latest earnings and debt information from the College Scorecard and Federal Student Aid’s Pell grant and loan recipient percentages and financial responsibility composite scores for private institutions.

KID supports WSCUC’s institutional review and oversight, serving as a critical tool for holding institutions accountable for financial sustainability and meaningful student outcomes. The dashboard’s interactive features allow users to explore key metrics, including enrollment; retention, graduation, and degree attainment; student debt; earnings; and institutional finances, among other measures. KID data helps guide institutional reports, shapes discussions during campus visits, and informs the Commission’s recommendations. Earnings and debt data points added to KID last year reinforced WSCUC’s commitment to transparency and accountability, coinciding with national discussions on college affordability and the economic value of a postsecondary degree.

WSCUC became the first national accreditor to make public an interactive data tool on the institutions it accredits with the release of KID in 2021. WSCUC will continue its leadership in transparency and accountability by incorporating additional student outcome measures into KID and developing new indicators to strengthen institutional evaluation and alignment with accreditation Standards.
