• WSCUC Leadership Transition Update

    November 1, 2024 - WSCUC

Dear WSCUC Community,

I write with an important update on WSCUC’s leadership transition.

Jamienne Studley will conclude her service as president of WSCUC effective December 18, 2024. Since assuming her post nearly seven years ago, Jamie has championed initiatives that have further positioned WSCUC as a leader in accreditation. Her contributions leave a lasting impact at WSCUC and across higher education, a resonant achievement most recently honored with AICCU’s 2024 Lasting Legacy Award.

Executive Vice President Christopher Oberg will serve as interim president, effective December 19, 2024. Christopher joined WSCUC in 2012 after serving in leadership roles at private nonprofit higher education institutions. He holds a Ph.D. from Claremont Graduate University, where he taught higher education administration. Christopher’s deep experience, effective engagement across every function of WSCUC, excellent judgment, and close partnership with Jamie and the Commission make this an ideal transition arrangement.

WSCUC’s presidential search committee anticipates selecting WSCUC’s next dynamic leader by the end of this year. Throughout this transition and beyond, WSCUC remains dedicated to providing the highest level of service to our member institutions. We appreciate your continued engagement and invite you to follow updates on the leadership transition process on WSCUC’s presidential search page. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your WSCUC liaison.

Sincerely,

Tracy Poon Tambascia
Commission Chair
