Gary W. Matkin has served as Dean of Continuing Education at UC Irvine since March 1, 2000. In October 2017 he was appointed Vice Provost, Career Pathways, responsible for providing career services to UCI’s 36,000 students. Dr. Matkin oversees the Division of Continuing Education which serves 35,000 enrollments per year. Dr. Matkin also oversees UCI’s open education initiative. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of San Francisco, an MBA and Ph.D. in Education from UC Berkeley, and is a Certified Public Accountant.
